Today's game against the Rockies was postponed due to rain/snow on the field. No makeup date has been announced, although this will invariably muck up the Pirates' travel schedule at some point later in the season.
The weather might be miserable, but as a fan sitting in sunny California at my desk watching this game, I would totally be in favor of watching these guys try to play in this. It reminds me of a reddit thread I saw once (I can't find it now) for a slow pitch softball tournament out in Reno that some people played in the snow. Think about how great it would be to see popups in the outfield just stick in the snow and Jason Rogers (or even better, everyone's favorite fat guy Bartolo Colon) trying to make the turn around third to score at home. This seems like something MLB should consider; after all, don't we want to make baseball fun again?
Pirates now take on the Reds tomorrow, with Juan Nicasio's start getting pushed back from today until tomorrow. This is actually pretty nice because it allows the Pirates to throw Cole on Monday against the Cubs with an extra day of rest. The most important teams to beat are the ones you're directly competing for playoff spots with, so hopefully this works out in the Pirates' favor.
